Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter make sure it’s halal-certified
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup for sweetness
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips make sure they’re halal-friendly
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds optional, for added nutrition
  • a pinch salt to enhance the flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until smooth and well blended.
  2. Stir in the rolled oats, chocolate chips, and ground flaxseeds (if using). Get your hands in there for a thorough mix.
  3. Add a small pinch of salt and mix again so that the salt is evenly distributed.
  4. Using your hands, scoop small amounts of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  5. Place your bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and pop them in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up.

  1. After chilling, your bites are ready to enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Feel free to substitute peanut butter with almond or cashew butter. You can also get creative with toppings such as coconut shavings or mini marshmallows. Store in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
