Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Crush the pretzel twists into small pieces using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-lock bag and using a rolling pin.
- Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup of sugar until well combined.
Baking the Crust
- Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for about 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Making the Cream Cheese Mixture
- In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and remaining 3/4 cup of sugar until smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is well combined.
Layering the Dessert
- Once the pretzel crust is cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top.
- In a bowl, dissolve the peach-flavored gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well, then add the cold water and sliced peaches. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Pour the peach mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
Serving
- Once the dessert has set, cut into squares and serve chilled.
- Enjoy this delightful treat with family and friends!
