Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar for crust
For the cream cheese layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened ensure room temperature for easier blending
  • 3/4 cup sugar remaining sugar for the cream cheese mixture
  • 1 cup whipped topping
For the peach layer
  • 1 package peach-flavored gelatin 6 oz package
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups sliced fresh peaches or canned peaches, drained fresh peaches recommended when in season

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Crush the pretzel twists into small pieces using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-lock bag and using a rolling pin.
  3. Combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup of sugar until well combined.
Baking the Crust
  1. Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Making the Cream Cheese Mixture
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and remaining 3/4 cup of sugar until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is well combined.
Layering the Dessert
  1. Once the pretzel crust is cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top.
  2. In a bowl, dissolve the peach-flavored gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir well, then add the cold water and sliced peaches. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
Serving
  1. Once the dessert has set, cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

This dessert can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It's best enjoyed fresh but can maintain flavor for a short period. If freezing, wrap individual slices tightly and consume within a month.
