Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced Substitute with frozen peaches if needed, just thaw and drain well.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust sugar based on peach ripeness.
Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Pour melted butter into the baking dish.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and milk. Stir until well blended.
  4. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, pour in the melted butter.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
  2. Add the sliced peaches on top of the batter.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of honey.
