Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
For the Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping make sure to choose halal-friendly
For the Topping
  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries
  • 1 cup berry-flavored gelatin be sure to check for halal certification

Method
 

Preparation of Crust
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix well until the pretzels are coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a prepared 9x13 inch baking dish.
Baking the Crust
  1. Place the crust in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow it to cool completely.
Making the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. Fold in the whipped topping until well blended.
Assembling the Salad
  1. Once the crust is completely cooled, spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the pretzel layer.
Preparing the Topping
  1. Prepare the gelatin according to the package instructions and let it cool slightly. Once it’s just set but not firm, gently pour it over the cream cheese layer.
Layering with Berries
  1. Add the mixed fresh berries evenly on top of the gelatin.
Chilling and Serving
  1. Refrigerate the dish for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is completely set. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

Ingredient Swaps: If you want an even healthier option, you can replace the cream cheese with Greek yogurt. Timing is important—let the layers set properly to prevent them from mixing together. Don't skip cooling the crust—this is crucial to prevent the filling from melting into it.
