Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6-8 pieces croissants, cut into bite-sized pieces Use stale croissants for better absorption.
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like cheddar or mozzarella) Can customize with different types of cheese.
  • 1 cup diced vegetables (bell peppers, onions, or spinach) Mix and match your favorite vegetables.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional) For an aromatic touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Place the cut croissant pieces evenly in the dish, spreading them out to create the foundation.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Stir in your choice of cheese and vegetables into the egg mixture. Make sure everything is evenly distributed.
  5. Evenly pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, pressing them down slightly to ensure they soak in the liquid.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for the best flavor).
  7. Remove the casserole from the fridge and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
