Pasta and Sauce Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (your choice) Choose your favorite type of pasta.
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground chicken or turkey.
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream Add gradually to prevent curdling.
  • 1 unit onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for serving Parmesan cheese Grated, if desired.
  • for garnish Fresh basil Optional.

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large pot, add a drizzle of oil and heat it over medium heat. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, add the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add the uncooked pasta to the pot. Cover and cook for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil if using, and serve hot.

Notes

Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Add a splash of beef broth or cream when reheating to retain creaminess.
