Cooking Steps
- In a large pot, add a drizzle of oil and heat it over medium heat. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once the beef is cooked, add the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the uncooked pasta to the pot. Cover and cook for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Garnish with fresh basil if using, and serve hot.
Notes
Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Add a splash of beef broth or cream when reheating to retain creaminess.
