  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Bring to room temperature if necessary
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Cream them together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Then, add vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop mounds of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring enough space between them.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave for a few seconds before serving.
