Preparation
- Start by greasing an 8-inch square baking dish with a little butter or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
Cooking
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar, butter, and milk. Stir the mixture continuously until it comes to a boil.
- Let it boil without stirring for about 2 minutes. A candy thermometer should read around 235°F to 240°F for that perfect fudge consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat once the mixture is ready. Stir in the peanut butter until fully melted and combined.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for added flavor. Stir until everything is blended nicely.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish, using a spatula to smooth out the top if necessary.
- Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for a couple of hours or until fully set. Once set, cut it into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Freeze individually wrapped pieces for longer storage. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce.
