Ingredients

Fudge Base
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Use high-quality peanut butter for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch salt Optional for enhanced flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by greasing an 8-inch square baking dish with a little butter or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the sugar, butter, and milk. Stir the mixture continuously until it comes to a boil.
  2. Let it boil without stirring for about 2 minutes. A candy thermometer should read around 235°F to 240°F for that perfect fudge consistency.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat once the mixture is ready. Stir in the peanut butter until fully melted and combined.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for added flavor. Stir until everything is blended nicely.
  5. Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish, using a spatula to smooth out the top if necessary.
  6. Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for a couple of hours or until fully set. Once set, cut it into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Freeze individually wrapped pieces for longer storage. Consider serving with vanilla ice cream or chocolate sauce.
