Preparation
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente according to package instructions, usually 6-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked macaroni back into the pot with the sautéed onions. Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (with juices) and sprinkle in the garlic powder. Stir to combine everything evenly.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is heated through and the flavors meld beautifully.

Notes
