Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick.
- Slice the pastry into equal squares, approximately 3x3 inches in size.
- Spoon about one tablespoon of Nutella into the center of each square.
- Bring the corners of each pastry square together and pinch them firmly to seal the Nutella inside.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the mixture over the tops of the pastries.
- Dust the tops with sugar for added sweetness and crunch.
- Place the pastry bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, optionally pairing with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze before baking for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5 to 10 minutes to retain flaky texture.
