Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
Mix-Ins
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans) Use fresh nuts for best flavor.
  • 1 cup dried fruit (e.g., raisins, cranberries, apricots) Feel free to substitute with your favorites.
  • 1/4 cup seeds (e.g., sunflower, pumpkin)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Pour in the warm water and mix until a shaggy dough forms. It's okay if it seems a bit sticky!
  3. Gently fold in the mixed nuts, dried fruit, and seeds until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  5. Once risen and bubbly, transfer the dough onto a well-floured surface and fold it a few times to shape it into a round loaf.
  6. Place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it rest for an additional 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 450°F (232°C).
Baking
  1. Carefully transfer the bread into the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the loaf is golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

Use fresh nuts and dried fruit for enhanced flavor. If you want to personalize the bread, substitute different nuts or dried fruits based on your preference. Keep an eye on the dough consistency; it should be sticky but not overly wet.
