Preparation
- Grease the inside of your slow cooker lightly with cooking spray or butter.
 - In the slow cooker, mix together the granulated sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
 - Pour in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine until there are no dry spots.
 - Carefully pour the boiling water over the mixture in the slow cooker. Do not stir!
 
Cooking
- Cover and cook on high for about 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the cake has set and a toothpick comes out clean from the edges.
 
Serving
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Scoop out the cake with a spoon, pairing it with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
 
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Check the cake around the 2-hour mark to avoid overcooking. Feel free to mix in chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture.
