Ingredients
  

Truffle Base
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure it is well softened for easier mixing.
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large orange, zest
  • 2 Tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
Coating
  • 1 cup orange-flavored candy melts or white chocolate chips Choose according to preference.
Decoration (optional)
  • additional orange zest or candy sprinkles For a festive touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
Chill
  1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
Shape Truffles
  1. Once the mixture is chilled, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Melt Coating
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the orange-flavored candy melts (or white chocolate chips) according to the package instructions, stirring until smooth.
Coat Truffles
  1. Dip each truffle into the melted coating, ensuring they’re completely covered. Allow excess to drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
Decorate
  1. If desired, sprinkle additional orange zest or candy sprinkles on top of the truffles for a festive touch.
Set
  1. Place the coated truffles back in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. For a lighter version, you can use reduced-fat cream cheese.
