Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 large egg Beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings (Optional)
  • to taste Extra sugar and cinnamon For sprinkling on top

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tray with paper liners or grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to fill each muffin cup about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 15–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, allow the muffins to cool in the tin for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
  8. For extra sweetness, sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon over the muffins while they are still warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2–3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds.
