  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk At room temperature
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture. Gently stir until just combined—don’t overmix!
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the surface and place it in the oven.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  3. Serve it warm, or let it cool completely if you plan to frost it!

Notes

Enhance the flavor by adding lemon or orange zest, or chocolate chips for a fun twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months.
