Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture. Gently stir until just combined—don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the surface and place it in the oven.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
- Serve it warm, or let it cool completely if you plan to frost it!
Notes
Enhance the flavor by adding lemon or orange zest, or chocolate chips for a fun twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months.
