  • 12 rolls Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 cups cheese (choose from cheddar, mozzarella, or American) Mix of cheeses can be used for added flavor.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened For brushing on the rolls.
  • to taste sliced tomatoes or fresh herbs (optional) Other toppings to enhance flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill pan or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally while keeping them connected.
  3. Place 1-2 cups of cheese between the top and bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of the rolls.
Cooking
  1. Place the buttered rolls onto the heated grill or skillet.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until everything is melted and crispy.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat, slice into mini servings, and enjoy!

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Can store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in a skillet or oven.
