Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the spaghetti and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Season with salt and pepper, breaking it into small pieces until completely cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, ground beef, and spaghetti sauce. Mix thoroughly until everything is well coated.
Assembly
- In a separate bowl, mix the cottage cheese, sour cream, and half of the mozzarella cheese. Stir to combine.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the spaghetti mixture evenly, followed by the cheese mixture. Top with remaining spaghetti mixture.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
You can swap ground beef for ground chicken or turkey (make sure it's Halal) for a lighter option. For a vegetarian twist, consider using lentils and mushrooms. To save time, cook the spaghetti and ground beef a day in advance.
