Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium saucepan, combine Rice-A-Roni and water. Cook according to package instructions until tender, then set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, mixed vegetables, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir until well combined.
- Gently fold the cooked Rice-A-Roni into the mixture until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the top.
- Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
- Ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
For substitutions, feel free to use shredded halal turkey or chickpeas for a vegetarian version. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
