Ingredients
  

For the Ribs
  • 2 racks Halal beef ribs Ensure ribs are halal-certified.
For the Rub and Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Check for halal certification.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar Can substitute with honey.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs.
  3. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to make a rub.
  4. Massage the rub all over the ribs and let them sit for 30 minutes.
  5. Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
Cooking
  1. Place wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours.
  2. After cooking, remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap them. Brush on the barbecue sauce.
  3. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
  4. Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Ensure to wrap the ribs tightly in foil to keep moisture locked in for tenderness. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for 3 months. Reheat wrapped in foil at 350°F (175°C).
