Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, egg, salt, pepper, cumin, and paprika. Use your hands to mix everything well until all components are evenly distributed.
- Take a handful of the chicken mixture and shape it into a patty, about 3-4 inches in diameter. Repeat until all the mixture is shaped into patties.
Cooking
- In a large, non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Ensure that your pan is adequately heated before adding the patties.
- Carefully place the patties in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Cook each side for about 5-6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through. Use a spatula to flip them gently.
- Once cooked, transfer the patties onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve warm with toppings like tzatziki, fresh veggies, or in pita bread.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them on a skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side. These patties freeze well for up to a month; store in a freezer-safe bag and thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
