  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder Opt for high-quality, culinary-grade matcha for best flavor.
  • 1 cup hot water Use hot, but not boiling, water.
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Almond, oat, or soy milk are great alternatives.
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener (honey, sugar, or maple syrup) Experiment with different sweeteners for varied flavor.

  1. In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder to eliminate any lumps.
  2. Gradually pour in the hot water, starting with about 2 ounces. Whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and a small froth forms.
  3. In a saucepan, gently heat your milk over medium-low heat. Do not boil.
  4. Pour the warm milk into your matcha mixture, adding in your chosen sweetener. Stir gently.
  5. For a little flair, sprinkle a bit of matcha on top or add a dash of cinnamon before serving.

Notes

Store leftover matcha latte in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
