Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Can substitute Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For Serving
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Tortilla chips or crackers For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients, ensuring shrimp is peeled and deveined. Optionally chop shrimp into smaller pieces for easier dipping.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Use a hand mixer or whisk until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in the cooked shrimp until evenly distributed in the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Let the dip chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, sprinkle chopped green onions over the top of the dip.
Serving
  1. Serve Maryland Shrimp Dip with crispy tortilla chips or your favorite crackers.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the mayonnaise. The longer the dip sits, the better the flavors meld. Be careful not to overmix the shrimp to maintain their texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Best enjoyed cold.
