Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Skewers (wooden or metal) If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 1 inch in size.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, lime juice, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are all well-coated. Cover with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Grilling
  1. Heat your grill to medium-high.
  2. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  3. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  4. Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Substitutions: You can substitute chicken breast with halal chicken thighs or other proteins like shrimp or beef, adjusting marinating time accordingly. Ensure grill is properly preheated, and avoid overcrowding skewers for even cooking.
