Ingredients
  

For the Crumble Base
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar can use light or dark
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or a Halal-friendly substitute
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Filling
  • 2 cups diced mango preferably ripe for best sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, your choice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, honey (or maple syrup), and lemon juice until combined.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until crumbly.
  6. Gently fold in the diced mango.
  7. Pour half of the crumble mixture into the baking dish and press down firmly.
  8. Spread the remaining mixture over the top of the mango layer.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
