Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- On a lightly floured surface, turn the dough out and gently knead for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle (about 1/2 inch thick). Cut into strips (around 1 inch wide) and roll into tight rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, ensuring a little space between each for rising.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden.
Glazing
- Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to create a glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls after baking.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to a month. Thaw at room temperature or warm in the oven for a few minutes.
