Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the softened butter until blended.
- Lightly flour a clean surface, pour the dough onto the surface, knead it a few times, and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut into strips and roll each strip into a spiral.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly and drizzle with powdered sugar icing if desired.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes.
