Ingredients
  

For the treats
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter Ensure not to brown the butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat until creamy.
  2. Add the entire package of marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest until combined.
  4. Gradually fold in the Rice Krispies cereal using a spatula until evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle in the salt and mix once more.
  6. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and pour the mixture into it, pressing down evenly.
  7. Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  8. Once set, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days; refrigerate for up to a week. Lightly grease hands to prevent sticking while pressing into the pan.
