  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles Use your favorite brand
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese Can substitute with cottage cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce Homemade or store-bought
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese For topping
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese For topping
  • 1 piece egg Binds the ricotta mixture
  • to taste Salt Use as per preference
  • to taste Pepper Use as per preference
  • to taste Italian seasoning Herbs to enhance flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 egg, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir until smooth.
Layering and Baking
  1. In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom. Then, place three cooked lasagna noodles on top.
  2. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Top with one-third of the shredded mozzarella and a bit more marinara.
  3. Repeat this layering process again, finishing off with a final layer of marinara and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  4. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Leftover Lazy Lasagna can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating. For reheating, microwave individual portions or bake the entire dish covered with foil in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
