  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Allow to cool slightly before mixing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs until blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix!
  5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each scoop.
  6. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges appear set.
  7. Once done, remove them from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to three months.
