Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage sliced into half-moons
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or cheese of your choice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the diced potatoes for about 10 minutes, just until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the kielbasa and onions. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the sausage is browned and the onions are translucent.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked potatoes, sautéed kielbasa and onion, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour the potato mixture into the dish and spread evenly. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
