Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the diced potatoes for about 10 minutes, just until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the kielbasa and onions. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the sausage is browned and the onions are translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked potatoes, sautéed kielbasa and onion, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour the potato mixture into the dish and spread evenly. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Baking
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Serving
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
