  • 1.5 cups 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cups 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the filling

  • 1 can (14 ounces) 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.75 cups 3/4 cup fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 2 pieces Zest of 2 limes

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup of sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish.
Baking the crust
  1. Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until slightly golden.
Making the filling
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together four eggs until blended.
  2. Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk, fresh lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
Baking the bars
  1. Once your crust is ready, pour the creamy lime filling over it, spreading it evenly.
  2. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly wobbly.
Cooling and serving
  1. Allow the bars to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar before slicing into bars and enjoy.

Notes

Store the Key Lime Pie Bars in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
