Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup of sugar, and melted butter until combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish.
Baking the crust
- Place the dish in your preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until slightly golden.
Making the filling
- In a large bowl, whisk together four eggs until blended.
- Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk, fresh lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
Baking the bars
- Once your crust is ready, pour the creamy lime filling over it, spreading it evenly.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly wobbly.
Cooling and serving
- Allow the bars to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
- Dust with powdered sugar before slicing into bars and enjoy.
Notes
Store the Key Lime Pie Bars in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.
