Ingredients

Meatball Mixture
  • 1 pound ground beef Halal-friendly ingredients may be used.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 each egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined but be careful not to overmix.
Shaping Meatballs
  1. Form the mixture into small balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a lined baking sheet for easy cleanup.
Cooking
  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil, then gently place the meatballs in the skillet. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once browned, reduce the heat and pour the barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce over the meatballs. Simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
Serving
  1. After simmering, give them a final stir and serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

Mix just until combined to avoid dense texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a warm oven or briefly in the microwave.
