Ingredients

For the Cookies
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • to taste powdered sugar for dusting

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure that your cookies bake perfectly.
  2. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to aerate the mixture.
Baking
  1. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until no streaks of flour remain.
  2. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set around the edges.
  4. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  5. Dust with powdered sugar once cooled.
