Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk, olive oil, and fresh herbs. Stir until well blended.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the milk mixture and add in the shredded cheese. Stir gently until just combined—don’t overmix!
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Place it in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once it’s cool, slice your bread and serve it warm with your favorite dishes!
Notes
For variations, try using whole wheat or rye flour. Different cheeses or herbs can also be used to change flavor profiles. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
