Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups baby potatoes, halved
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • to taste fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by washing the baby potatoes and cutting them in half. Prepare the bite-sized pieces of steak and mince the garlic.
Cooking the Potatoes
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the halved baby potatoes. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and tender.
Searing the Steak
  1. In another pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the steak pieces in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
Adding Garlic
  1. When the steak is nearly done, add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Combining Everything
  1. Once both the potatoes and steak bites are done, combine them in one pan. Toss gently to mix the flavors, allowing the garlic notes to permeate the potatoes.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the steak with halal-friendly chicken breast for a lighter option. Ensure your skillet is hot enough when adding the steak for a perfect sear. Avoid overcrowding your pan while searing the steak to prevent steaming.
