Ingredients
  

For the Pretzels
  • 16 oz 1 bag of pretzel twists
For the Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Optional Toppings
  • sea salt
  • crushed nuts optional for nut-free
  • chocolate drizzle

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread the pretzel twists out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Making the Caramel Sauce
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. Allow to boil for about 4–5 minutes without stirring until it thickens slightly.
Baking
  1. Immediately pour the hot caramel sauce over the pretzels, spreading it out slightly to ensure all pretzels are coated.
  2. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet.
  2. Once cooled, break them apart along the pretzel lines and serve or store!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for 2-3 months. Best served at room temperature.
