Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Water (as needed) Add gradually to form a soft dough.
For Brushing
  • Butter or ghee For brushing on the hot bread.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the oil and gradually pour in water to form a soft and pliable dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. After resting, divide the dough into equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it.
  2. Using a rolling pin, roll it out into a flat disc, about ΒΌ-inch thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the rolled-out dough onto the pan.
  4. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on one side until small bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the pan and brush with melted butter or ghee while still hot. Repeat with the remaining dough.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze separated with parchment paper. Reheat on a hot pan for best results.
