Preparation Phase
- Soften the vanilla ice cream at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
Layering
- In a round cake pan (preferably 9 inches), start with a layer of crumbled chocolate cake on the bottom.
- Spread about one cup of softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the cake layer.
Hot Fudge Time
- Drizzle half of the warm hot fudge sauce over the ice cream layer and gently swirl it with a spatula.
Second Layer
- Add another layer of crumbled chocolate cake followed by another cup of vanilla ice cream.
- Drizzle the remainder of your hot fudge sauce on top and swirl.
Whipped Cream Topping
- Top the cake with whipped cream, spreading it evenly or piping it for decoration.
Chill Out
- Place the cake in the freezer for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.
Serve and Garnish
- Once set, remove from the freezer and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles before serving.
Notes
For variations, try different ice cream flavors like caramel or mint chocolate chip. Ensure the chocolate cake is finely crumbled for the best texture. Don’t skip softening the ice cream for easier spreading.
