For the chicken patties
  • 1 lb ground chicken Fresh ground chicken works best for flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Use pure honey for the best taste.
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard Any variant of mustard can be used.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust salt according to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is ideal.
For assembly
  • 4 whole whole wheat burger buns Can substitute with any preferred buns.
  • to taste Lettuce and tomato for toppings Feel free to customize with your favorite toppings.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, honey, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the meat.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties (about 1/2 inch thick).
Cooking
  1. Preheat a grill or skillet on medium heat and lightly grease.
  2. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  3. Serve on whole wheat buns, topped with lettuce and tomato, and drizzle with additional honey mustard if desired.

Notes

For the best texture, avoid overmixing the chicken. Customize the sauce with different mustard types or spices. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
