Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Divided for cooking
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Essential for flavor
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Ensure it’s halal-compliant
Optional Garnishes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For garnish
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by measuring and preparing all your ingredients to ensure a smooth cooking process.
Cooking Broccoli
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add in the broccoli and sauté for 3-4 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Sautéing Shrimp
  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the shrimp, cooking them for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
Creating the Sauce
  1. Add honey and soy sauce to the skillet, stirring to coat the shrimp evenly. Allow the honey mixture to thicken for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring the shrimp are well-coated.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Return the sautéed broccoli back to the skillet. Toss everything gently until well combined and heated through.
Serving
  1. Transfer the dish to a serving platter. Optionally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve with your favorite rice.
