Preparation
- Start by placing the pre-made tart shell on a serving plate. If the tart shell needs to be baked, follow the directions on the package, usually involving a quick pre-bake at 350°F until golden brown.
- While the tart shell is baking or cooling, wash and slice your fresh figs. If they’re particularly small, you might slice them in half, but larger figs can be cut into quarters for a more dramatic presentation.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and creamy, ensuring a delightful sweetness balanced with a hint of acidity from the lemon.
Assembly
- Spread the mascarpone mixture evenly across the bottom of the cooled tart shell.
- Next, arrange the sliced figs artfully on top, creating a beautiful pattern that showcases the vibrant colors.
Serving
- Finally, drizzle a little extra honey over the figs for added sweetness and garnish with fresh thyme for a pop of color and flavor. Serve immediately or chill for a short time before enjoying.
Notes
Store any leftover Honey Fig Tart covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to one month. Thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.
