Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 each pre-made tart shell Can use a gluten-free shell for a gluten-free option.
  • 8-10 pieces fresh figs, sliced If small, slice in half; larger figs can be cut into quarters.
  • 1/2 cup honey Additional for drizzling on top.
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese For a creamy filling.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds acidity to balance sweetness.
  • to garnish none Fresh thyme For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the pre-made tart shell on a serving plate. If the tart shell needs to be baked, follow the directions on the package, usually involving a quick pre-bake at 350°F until golden brown.
  2. While the tart shell is baking or cooling, wash and slice your fresh figs. If they’re particularly small, you might slice them in half, but larger figs can be cut into quarters for a more dramatic presentation.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and creamy, ensuring a delightful sweetness balanced with a hint of acidity from the lemon.
Assembly
  1. Spread the mascarpone mixture evenly across the bottom of the cooled tart shell.
  2. Next, arrange the sliced figs artfully on top, creating a beautiful pattern that showcases the vibrant colors.
Serving
  1. Finally, drizzle a little extra honey over the figs for added sweetness and garnish with fresh thyme for a pop of color and flavor. Serve immediately or chill for a short time before enjoying.
