  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Can be replaced with other toppings like chocolate chips.

Preparation
  1. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and evaporated milk.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  4. Allow it to boil for about 4-5 minutes, continuing to stir to prevent burning.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. If using, fold in the chopped nuts just until combined.
  7. Pour the fudge into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours until set.
  9. Once set, cut the fudge into small squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. To soften, let sit at room temperature before serving.
