Preparation
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them in half or quarters.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Mash the strawberries with a potato masher or use an immersion blender to achieve your desired consistency.
- Remove from heat once thickened slightly, allow to cool, and store in the fridge.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for three months. Reheat gently on low heat.
