Ingredients
  

Syrup Base
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar Ensure it's Halal-certified.
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
Spices and Flavor
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.
  2. Once the sugar is dissolved, add the 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree to the saucepan. Mix thoroughly until no lumps remain.
  3. Stir in the 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice and the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Heat over medium until the mixture comes to a gentle boil.
Cooking
  1. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Storage
  1. Remove the saucepan from heat and let your syrup cool. Transfer it to a clean, airtight container, and store it in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze in an ice cube tray for longer storage. Reheat gently on low heat when ready to use. Optional: Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger for a flavor twist.
