Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh plums, pitted and chopped Choose ripe plums for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice This helps balance the sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the fresh plums under cold water, pat them dry, cut them in half, and remove the pits. Chop the plums into smaller pieces.
Cooking
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the chopped plums, sugar, water, and lemon juice. Stir gently to incorporate all the ingredients.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. If you prefer a smoother syrup, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture to your desired consistency. For a chunkier texture, skip this step.
  4. If you want a clear syrup, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a clean jar.
  5. Allow the syrup to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.

Notes
