Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a square baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, honey or maple syrup, nut butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
- If using chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits, fold them into your mixture at this point.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly with your hands or the back of a spatula.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges turn a golden brown.
- Once baked, let the bars cool in the baking dish for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper and let them cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares or rectangles.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Freeze individually wrapped for up to 3 months and reheat in the microwave for a fresh experience.
