Ingredients

Pancake Ingredients
  • 2 pieces fluffy pancakes (homemade or store-bought)
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 patty halal sausage patty
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 slice cheese (your choice, like cheddar or American)
Condiments
  • to taste maple syrup (for drizzling)
  • to taste butter (for cooking)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. If you're making pancakes from scratch, mix together your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in one bowl and wet ingredients (milk, eggs, and melted butter) in another. Combine until just mixed but still slightly lumpy.
  2. Cook on a heated and greased griddle or non-stick pan until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a little butter and place the halal sausage patty. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and browned.
  2. In the same skillet, with some leftover grease, crack an egg. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny, about 2-3 minutes. If you prefer a firmer yolk, flip and cook for an additional minute.
Assembly
  1. Lay one pancake on a plate, then stack the sausage patty, cooked egg, and cheese slice on top. Drizzle with maple syrup.
  2. Finish with the second pancake on top and enjoy your creation!

Notes

Substitute sausage with chicken or turkey for a lighter option or use plant-based sausage for a vegetarian version. Stir-fry vegetables can be added for extra nutrition.
