Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while you prepare the filling.
- In a large bowl, mix your cooked meat, veggies, and cheese. Add herbs and spices to taste.
- On a floured surface, roll out your pizza or pastry dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Using a knife or pizza cutter, slice the rolled dough into rectangles or circles, depending on your preferred shape.
Assembly
- Place a generous spoonful of the filling on one half of each dough piece. Be careful not to overfill!
- Fold the other half over the filling, and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the pockets to achieve a golden color while baking.
Baking
- Place the Hot Pockets on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let them cool for just a few minutes before diving in to enjoy!
Notes
Make sure not to overfill your pockets; use leftover dough to create smaller bites or decorative shapes. For added spice, include jalapeños or hot sauce in your filling. You can freeze unbaked Hot Pockets for up to 2 months.
