Main Ingredients
  • 2 cans 14.5 oz each green beans, drained (or 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and blanched)
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup (ensure it's Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups crispy fried onions (plus extra for topping)
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Fold in 1 ½ cups of crispy fried onions into the mixture.
  4. Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
Baking
  1. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbling and heated through.
  2. Remove from the oven and sprinkle additional crispy fried onions on top. Return to the oven for an extra 5-10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with loved ones!

Notes

For a Halal-friendly option, use Halal-certified cream of mushroom soup or make your own. Avoid overcooking fresh green beans to keep them tender-crisp.
