Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond butter, honey or maple syrup, mashed banana, and vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
- Gradually stir in the rolled oats until they are fully coated with the wet mixture. If you're using nuts or dried fruits, fold them in at this point.
- Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal later. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish, pressing it down firmly with a spatula.
- Place your dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Once baked, allow the squares to cool in the dish for about 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store squares in an airtight container for up to a week in the refrigerator or freeze for up to three months. For reheating, microwave for 10-15 seconds or toast in the oven.
